Frequently Asked Questions

Question: How can I spot new schools en route?

Answer: You may ask local residents and directly enquire local education bureau or youth committee since normally these agencies would have detail information. Please remember to take down contact methods in order to follow up later.

Question: What are the requirements for participating schools of More than 1KG?

Answer: One basic criterion is easy accessibility, which means the school may be located inside travel destinations or along the route. To ensure the effectiveness of the events, those schools are best to be within 2 hours’ ride from the closest travel destination and security is fairly sound. Considering the capacity of tourists, participating schools are mainly rural primary schools yet we welcome schools from other categories to join in.

Question: How shall I take down information of target schools?

Answer: Before setting off, please download and print out a few copies of School Information Sheet from here. Whenever you come across such schools en route, please let teachers fill in the sheet and send it back to us later.

Question: What shall I be aware of when filling in School Information Sheet?

Answer: Since the School Information Sheet is mostly filled in by local teachers, they would know their schools better than logistic or travel information, you may need to remind them. If they don’t fill in complete logistic information, you need to finish it up based on what you collect en route.

Question: What if I forget to bring School Information Sheet while I find such needy school en route?

Answer: One suggestion is to take down all details of school as much as you can such as basic information of the school, address, contact names and methods, what the school needs most and logistic information. Last but not least, don’t forget to take pictures of the school and the kids!
